What is SAFe?

Scaled Agile Framework is one of the most implemented lean frameworks globally for scaling Agile frameworks at the enterprise level. SAFe© creates a sustainable model through which the lead time for delivery can be drastically reduced while the overall productivity of the organization can be improved without compromising on quality. SAFe© assists through providing resources and techniques to all the organization levels that are involved in the solution development such as Team Program and Portfolio.

This creates greater transparency, better communication, quicker results, lesser redundancies, and sustainable and faster time-to-market solutions while reducing uncertainties. The five core competencies propounded in Leading SAFe© course empowers the enterprises to integrate successfully and sustainably, Lean, Agile, and DevOps under one roof. This means the effective response time for uncertain volatilities is increased.

Leading SAFe© Course

Even though SAFe© provides all the required tools, sometimes the challenges inherent in managing enterprise-level challenges will be made easy if you are a professional. Therefore, SAFe© Agilist certification is going to be extremely effective in tackling these challenges. Who can Attend the Course?

C-Level Staff

Executives at this level are in charge of decision-making that ultimately affect the deliverables and the sustainability of the business model. Understanding the Scaled Agile framework model will help make informed decisions through the use of methods and techniques that are tried and tested and are a part of the vast open network of people already implementing SAFe© in some capacity.

DevOps

DevOps involves the seamless integration of developers and administrators. Without a delicate communication network, the lead time will be higher than it needs to be. Agile Principles will help in bringing together resources from various teams so that the DevOps can function productively for sustainably delivering quality.

Quality Assurance

Quality Assurance teams and Developers work in two different verticals. Their paths cross only when they mutually agree to discuss the progress. However, a professional who has done his Leading SAFe© course will ensure that both these verticals happen simultaneously through self-assessment and continual checks.

Program and Project Managers

These people are the product owners. They are the mediators between the clients and the development team. They have complete oversight for the solution. Applying the principles of Scale agile framework will ensure that the team works with the least glitches and the least hurdles. It is important to foster professional camaraderie among the employees to ensure that the client requirements meet the capabilities of the team working on the product itself.

Product Managers

It is important to understand that SAFe© is no longer restricted just to the IT business. Manufacturing businesses stand to gain a lot from this as well. Application of lean manufacturing principles and the agile framework will reduce the lead time, make the results of time study and work-study more effective, and reduce wastages and leakages in the process due to inextricably long processes

Portfolio Managers and Process Leads

Each process owner is in-charge of one vertical. Several teams and project managers work under him. He is not only responsible to the clients for ensuring that the final deliverable meets the enterprise’s quality standards, but also responsible to the project managers to provide the required resources to mediate between the clients and the development team effectively. He is also responsible for the team itself for providing resources that they need to ensure smooth operation.

Application of Agile principles helps reduce process leaks and redundancies resulting from the lack of an effective communication network and duplication of duties. By cutting down non-requisite portfolios, process owners can save a lot in resources and divert them to where they are required, maximizing efficiency, productivity, and performance.

Importance of SAFe© Agilist Training

Before an organization can shift towards accepting this practice, it needs to be lean. This involves developing competencies that are more accepting of newer forms of leadership and methods of operation. It is a certified professional that can gear this change successfully and ensure that the organization adopts and smoothly runs on this agile framework.

Eligibility Criteria and Certification Process for SAFe©

Scaled Agile Inc., the governing body for SAFe©, does not dictate any experience criteria for attempting the exam. Any candidate who wants to learn SAFe© methodology can take up this certification. However, given the industry trends, several training providers advise that the candidates should have at least five years of experience and much of that experience working in a Scrum framework.

The certification process is much like other Agile frameworks. You must sit for 16-hour training sessions usually spread over two days. SAFe© program consultants teach this course. SAFe© will send you the examination information directly after the course is complete. The exam itself is for 1.5 hours and consists of 45 multiple-choice questions. The minimum marks that a person should obtain is 77% — 35 correct questions out of 45. After you clear the exam, you’ll receive a one-year membership to Scaled Agile along with your passing certification.
